this is garbage ... this is garbage legislation, although it's well-meaning. the proponents of legislation tend to be static-minded and unaware of the dynamic effects this would (likely) cause. those who are proposing this are clueless about taxiway dynamics, airline scheduling, tactical decision-making, and airline? operations. there are things that can be done, but this is most certainly NOT it and the very thought of imposing a cap on the delay (which affect less than 0..1% of all flights) is spurious at best.

As far as the idea ... As far as the idea of them cancelling there flight, most airline tickets are non-refundable. And im sure they wouldn't switch flights because they knew and you should know, no one else was flying. This was an issue with everyone. the problem was this was Jet Blue got left out to dry. Someone was gonna? be, they just ended up being unlucky. believe it or not, airlines are more about safety than money.

Ah they don't need ... Ah they don't need a gate to go back to. Did you ever hear of stairs, they use them quite frequently at airports. They could have just deplanced the? pax and returned them to the terminal by bus. At least they would have a little more space, bathrooms to use and food to eat. But it's not in the airlines interest to do so as some of the pax may book with someone else or just cancel their flight which then costs the airline money. That's the real reason they leave them sitting on the aircraft.

Tell me what they were suppose to do. Would you rather take off and die or sit on the ground and life. Theres nothing Jet Blue could have done. Also this happened to many other airlines as well, Jet? Blue just got stranded.
